"Properly trained, a man can be a dog's best friend."

About DGE
DoggoneExpress, Inc. was founded in 2006 to provide training and transporting services to shelters and rescue groups in South Louisiana. We do not rehome dogs or take them from individuals into our programs as we work with shelters to help with overpopulation. Please contact your local shelter if you need to rehome or surrender your dog. Thank you!
A few of our programs include:
-
The Big House to Your House—a training program for shelter dogs and inmates of correctional institutions throughout Louisiana
-
Companions for Life—a program that pairs affordable service dogs with our Veterans and others with physical or emotional needs
-
Paws for Change—a dog training program for at-risk youth
-
Veteran's Training Program—a program that teaches former military members how to train their service dog
Our Mission
Saving Paws and Saving Souls®
Doggoneexpress is a 501(c)3 corporation created to assist non-profit, no-kill rescue groups and organizations to promote animal welfare. Our mission is to establish programs in correctional facilities and juvenile detention centers across Louisiana for both basic training and service dog training, to pass spay and neuter laws, and to help provide transport to all shelters and parish agencies in south Louisiana for adoptions and evacuations.
History
The concept for training dogs by inmates is based on similar programs in California, Colorado, and Florida. Our program, which began in 2011, is modeled after Pathways to Hope, the first program of this kind, formed by Sister Pauline Quinn in California in 1985. Positive reinforcement training will be used in all of our training in all of our programs.
