William Barse, Mr. Bill

Founder and Director of Doggoneexpress, Inc., Bill came to the New Orleans area in 2006 to assist in the rebuilding of the Gulf Region. Prior to that, he had a financial investment brokerage and a real estate brokerage in Maryland for 18 years. He currently has a real estate brokerage in Louisiana, where his focus is in the industrial commercial market. Bill has used his previous experience in wildlife rescue and dog training to assist the Humane Society of Louisiana in their anti-abuse work. He is an animal cruelty investigator with HSL, as well as a board member for HSL’s Dixieland Animal Rescue and Evacuation Center in Tylertown, Mississippi.

Jeff Dorson

Jeff established the Humane Society of Louisiana in 1988 in response to the great need in the state for humane shelters. Jeff, now Executive Director of HSL, opened Safe House for Abused Animals in 2001 and, in 2003, became a licensed private investigator into animal cruelty cases. In 2007, Jeff established the New Orleans Vegetarian Society and currently acts as a consultant for Alley Cat Allies. Dorson, a graduate of Kenyon College, is one of Louisiana’s leading abuse investigators.

Diane Lundeen

Diane received her Bachelor’s degree from Tulane University and her graduate degree from Loyola University in New Orleans. Diane has worked with animals since her teens. She has been actively involved throughout her adult life with various animal rescue groups in south Louisiana, and she owns and operates Petcetera, a full-service pet boutique is located at 3205 Magazine Street, New Orleans, LA.

Angela McGurk

A resident of New Orleans since 2014, Angela has been the volunteer marketing director for DoggoneExpress since 2013. She owns and operates 3 Charm Studio, a graphic design and framing company, she's a former volunteer at Animal Rescue New Orleans (ARNO), and a current member of Lucha Krewe.

Nicole Richmond

Nicole has been a volunteer in Louisiana animal shelters since 2004. As a board member of the Jefferson Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, she was awarded the Humane Society's Pets for Life Grant. She currently assists us with our grant applications as well as creating program logic models, monitoring and evaluation plans, data tools, and assessments.

Michael Schachtman

Michael Schachtman is the founder of New Orleans Bulldog Rescue and has served as Director for nearly 15 years. Prior to this, Michael was a volunteer trainer and foster home for multiple local rescue organizations. When not working with animals, Michael serves as Executive Director of the Louisiana Judicial College, where he oversees the training of Louisiana state judges. He received his JD from Loyola University New Orleans.
